Manatee County, Florida – The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation following a tragic incident where three women were shot and killed on Monday night.

According to reports from deputies, the first shooting occurred at the Motel 6 on 68th Street Circle East in Bradenton around 9:15 p.m. They arrived to find a 48-year-old woman deceased from a gunshot wound. Witnesses at the scene informed authorities that 28-year-old Javontee Brice had allegedly shot his mother for reasons that remain unclear before fleeing, possibly towards Georgia.

Shortly thereafter, at approximately 9:40 p.m., deputies responded to another shooting in the 900 block of 26th Street Court East in Palmetto. A 29-year-old woman had been shot while inside a parked SUV. Despite efforts by Palmetto police officers to save her life, she succumbed to her injuries about an hour later. Witnesses also identified Brice as the assailant in this incident.

The violence continued when deputies received information about yet another shooting at 4800 55th Street in Bradenton just after 10 p.m. According to Bradenton police officers, Brice shot another woman before fleeing once again. Tragically, the victim passed away after being transported to a hospital.

In response to these events, law enforcement issued a statewide alert to locate Brice and his vehicle. Multiple agencies collaborated in tracking him to Hamilton County, near the state line.

Efforts to apprehend Brice escalated when he engaged Hamilton County deputies in gunfire around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Brice was fatally shot during the exchange.

Investigators from Manatee County later revealed that Brice had been intending to travel to Georgia with the intention of harming another individual.

As the investigation continues, authorities urge the community to remain vigilant and provide any relevant information that could assist in understanding the sequence of events leading to this tragic loss of life.

This remains an ongoing and developing story.
