Ukrainian Partisans Target Russian Drone Supply in Kursk (Video)

(Rylsk, Kursk Oblast) – Ukrainian intelligence has successfully destroyed a Russian truck loaded with drones in Kursk Oblast, marking a significant blow to Moscow’s drone operations.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense (HUR) has conducted a successful operation in Kursk Oblast, Russia. The operation resulted in the destruction of a truck carrying Russian drones. According to a source familiar with the matter, the truck was targeted and destroyed through a coordinated effort involving Ukrainian partisans.

As of November 2024, Russia has been advancing its use of Shahed drones, aiming to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defenses. These drones have undergone substantial upgrades, including thermobaric warheads and improved navigation systems, making them deadlier and more effective. In response, Ukraine has intensified efforts to counter these threats through electronic warfare, mobile fire teams, and a network of partisans operating within and outside Ukrainian borders.

Ukrainian partisans in the city of Rylsk, Kursk Oblast, played a pivotal role in identifying and sabotaging the Russian drone operation. The partisans discovered a Russian drone crew loading a vehicle with plastic boxes containing drones. Acting swiftly, they launched a sabotage operation that resulted in the truck being set ablaze, destroying its valuable cargo.

“The enemy crew was spotted while loading a vehicle with plastic boxes containing drones. As a result of successful sabotage actions, the truck, along with its valuable cargo, was set on fire,” stated the source.

This operation adds to a series of successful Ukrainian intelligence actions. Earlier, HUR reported the destruction of a sophisticated Russian radio-location system. Ukrainian reconnaissance personnel from the “Wings” unit executed a precision drone strike targeting a Russian Zoopark-1 counter-battery radar station. While the HUR did not disclose the exact location of this strike, it highlights Ukraine’s growing capability to carry out targeted attacks against critical Russian military infrastructure.

The growing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has seen an escalation in the use of drones as a strategic tool. While Russia leverages Shahed drones to pressure Ukrainian defenses, Ukraine’s innovative countermeasures, combined with the involvement of local partisan networks, continue to disrupt Russian plans.
