Russian Attacks on Sumy Region: 256 Explosions and Four Injured

On August 19, 2024, the Sumy region in Ukraine experienced a series of Russian attacks, with 256 explosions recorded across various communities. The strikes resulted in injuries to four civilians and significant damage.

Throughout the day, the Russian military targeted the Sumy region with 69 separate attacks. These attacks included mortar fire, rocket launches, and aerial bombardments. The Sumy Regional Military Administration (RMA) reported the details of the attacks and their impacts.

The Krasnopilska community endured 79 mortar explosions, 8 multiple rocket launcher explosions, and 48 artillery explosions. Additionally, there were 8 explosions from unguided aerial missiles launched from helicopters and 4 explosions from FPV drones.

In the Velykopysarivska community, 4 explosions were caused by drones, 9 by unguided aerial missiles from helicopters, 23 by mortars, 1 by a guided bomb airstrike, and 18 by artillery shelling.

The Hlukhivska community was targeted by 6 explosions from FPV drones. In the Seredyna-Budska community, 10 explosions from FPV drones resulted in injuries to two residents, along with 4 mortar explosions.

The Khotyn community was struck by 4 airstrikes. Novoslobidska community faced an attack by an FPV drone. The Bilopilska community saw 3 drone-dropped explosives and an airstrike.

The Shalyhinska community experienced 9 mines, 3 guided bomb airstrikes, and 2 FPV drone explosions. Myropilska community was hit by 3 guided aerial bombs.

The Esman community suffered from 1 FPV drone explosion, 3 guided bomb airstrikes, and 4 drone-dropped explosives, resulting in injuries to 2 civilians. The Druzhbivska community was hit by an FPV drone.
