Russian forces continue to launch attacks on border communities in the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions in an effort to keep Ukrainian units under constant pressure. The enemy’s tactics remain unchanged, with daily shelling targeting both civilians and infrastructure. Vadym Mysnyk, spokesman for the Siversk Operational and Tactical Group, reported that over the past 24 hours alone, 33 settlements had been attacked.
The border town of Bohodukhivka in the Kharkiv region was targeted by Russian Geran attack drones. The strike caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure, including transport vehicles, a fire truck, and several businesses. Russian forces also shelled Chernihiv, resulting in at least nine explosions. Residential buildings, over 20 civilian cars, seven trolleybuses, and seven buses were damaged in the assault.
Russian troops appear to be concentrating their forces near the Sumy region, particularly in Kursk, where Ukraine’s Defence Forces are maintaining their positions. Ukrainian troops are strengthening defensive measures and carrying out counterattacks deep into enemy-held areas to prevent further advances. The strategy of constant shelling is aimed at forcing Ukraine to divert forces away from more active frontlines, preventing reinforcements from being sent to areas under heavy fighting.
Reports indicate that Russian troops are attempting to infiltrate Sumy region using small assault groups. According to Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service, Russian forces are accumulating troops and trying to expand the zone of active combat along the northern border. Despite these efforts, Ukraine’s military remains committed to defending its territory and neutralising enemy incursions.
