Russian forces have suffered over 100,000 casualties since the beginning of 2025 in their ongoing invasion of Ukraine. The figure was announced by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, who credited Ukraine’s defenders for their coordinated and professional military operations.
The Ukrainian military continues to inflict heavy losses on Russian troops along the entire frontline. Footage released by Syrskyi shows Ukrainian forces striking enemy positions and eliminating Russian military units in key combat zones. The General expressed gratitude to Ukrainian soldiers for their resilience and effectiveness in repelling Russian attacks.
The General Staff of Ukraine has also updated its estimates of Russian losses, reporting that in just one day, Ukrainian forces neutralised 1,400 Russian troops, destroyed 10 tanks and eliminated 78 artillery systems. These figures underscore the intense nature of the fighting and the severe toll on Russian forces as Ukraine maintains its defensive and counteroffensive operations.
