The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have successfully targeted critical facilities in Russia’s Ryazan and Kursk regions. The Ryazan Oil Refining Company, a major supplier of fuel to the Russian military, was hit, as well as a forward command post near the village of Korenevo in the Kursk region. The strikes, carried out by the AFU Unmanned Systems Forces and the Defence Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate, resulted in explosions and fires at the targeted sites.
The Ryazan Oil Refining Company is one of the four largest oil refineries in Russia, producing essential fuels such as diesel and TS-1 jet fuel. The attack is expected to impact Russia’s military logistics and fuel supply chain.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian missile forces struck a forward command post belonging to the Russian Pacific Fleet’s task force. The full extent of the damage is yet to be determined, but the strike is considered a significant blow to Russian military operations in the area.
These attacks follow previous Ukrainian strikes on January 24, which targeted the Ryazan Oil Refining Company and the Kremniy El microelectronics plant in Bryansk.
