Spain has reaffirmed its commitment to assisting Ukraine by providing much-needed medical supplies and ambulances, as the two nations ramp up their collaboration in defence and humanitarian aid. In a recent meeting in Kyiv, representatives from the Spanish government, including Defence Minister Margarita Robles and Admiral Juan Francisco Martinez Nunez, discussed ways to deepen the relationship between the two countries.
Lieutenant General Serhiy Deineko, Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, welcomed the Spanish delegation, where the primary topics focused on supporting wounded Ukrainian soldiers and offering recreational activities for the children of border guards. Additionally, discussions covered the professional development of medical personnel in Ukraine, which is vital for strengthening the country’s healthcare capabilities during wartime.
A key part of the meeting was the transfer of two Mercedes Benz Sprinter ambulances, equipped with essential medical supplies, to a mobile border guard detachment. The humanitarian aid was organised by Sister Lucia Karam Padilla, further reinforcing Spain’s role in providing critical support to Ukraine.
