Russian Factory and Residential Areas Damaged in Drone Attack on Rostov Region

A drone attack in Russia’s Rostov region caused fires at a company and a residential building, along with damage to several homes and a school, though no casualties were reported.

On January 10, 2025, a drone strike in Russia’s Rostov region led to a fire at the PlastiFactor company and ignited a residential building. Seven houses and a school were damaged, though no injuries were reported.

According to the acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuriy Slyusar, the attack resulted in significant damage but no casualties. Slyusar shared the details through his Telegram channel, stating that the fire at the PlastiFactor facility and a residential building in the village of Chaltyr were caused by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In Chaltyr, the attack set a private house on fire, and nearby cars were also damaged by the flames.

Additionally, in the village of Krym, a fire broke out at a production facility. Slyusar also reported that in the village of Kryukov, located in the Kuibyshev district, several buildings were damaged when debris from the drones fell, smashing windows and damaging the facades and roofs of seven residential houses and a local school.

Local sources on Telegram confirmed that the PlastiFactor plant in Krym had been hit during the attack. While Slyusar claimed that 16 drones were destroyed in the air defense efforts, local authorities have not confirmed whether any of the UAVs were successfully intercepted.

In addition to the Rostov region attacks, drones were also reported over the Voronezh suburbs, where they caused minor damage. Several private homes had their windows broken, and two cars were damaged by falling debris. One uninhabited house was also reported to have been struck.
