Kyiv Cleans Up After Nighttime Russian Drone Attack

Kyiv is in recovery mode after a Russian drone attack struck the technical floor of a 16-story residential building in the city’s Solomyansky district. The State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine has been actively clearing debris and addressing structural damage while ensuring public safety.

The attack occurred during the early hours of January 10. According to the SES, the drone’s impact caused significant damage to the building’s technical floor but fortunately did not result in a fire. Initial assessments indicate no injuries or fatalities.

A car parked in the yard of the building was also damaged by falling debris. As of 10:30 a.m., SES teams had cleared the damaged structures on the roof and technical floor and were continuing work on the stairwell.

The response to the incident involved 28 rescue personnel and five emergency vehicles. Photos shared by the SES reveal the scale of the destruction, showcasing the resilience of emergency teams working to secure the area and prevent further hazards.

The strike is part of ongoing Russian drone attacks targeting Ukrainian cities, emphasizing the ongoing dangers civilians face amidst the conflict.
