Zelenskyy Calls for Enhanced Economic and Security Ties with Africa
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has underscored the need for stronger economic and security partnerships with African nations. In a recent meeting with Ukrainian diplomats, Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation with Africa and Latin America, while also expanding Ukraine’s diplomatic presence in Asia.
During the meeting titled “Military Diplomacy: Resilience, Weapons, Victory,” Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine requires robust economic and security cooperation with Africa. He highlighted the upcoming Ukraine-Africa forum as a key initiative to strengthen these ties. Zelenskyy expressed his anticipation for the forum and noted that strong partnerships with nations that uphold international law are crucial for Ukraine.
The President also pointed out the positive results of Ukraine’s engagements with Latin American countries, such as Chile and Argentina, as well as Caribbean states. He called for increased cooperation and directed Ukrainian ambassadors and Ministry of Foreign Affairs staff to work towards organizing a Ukraine-Latin America summit.
Additionally, Zelenskyy praised the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Japan, suggesting that this model of relations should serve as an example. He emphasized the significance of the Asian region and the Pacific Ocean in shaping future global developments. Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to a peaceful world order and expressed readiness to contribute to global security efforts. He announced plans to bolster Ukraine’s diplomatic presence in Asia to support these objectives.
