NMB to Sponsor Kizimkazi Festival and Support Local Entrepreneurs

The Kizimkazi Festival for 2024 is set to be inaugurated by Zanzibar President Dr. Hussein Mwinyi, with over 5 billion Tanzanian Shillings worth of development projects expected to be launched. The festival will be held on August 18, 2024.

This year, NMB Bank has committed to significantly supporting the festival and is planning to provide training for over 700 entrepreneurs. Additionally, the bank will hand over the newly established School of Arts in Makunduchi, Zanzibar, to President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The Kizimkazi Festival serves as a platform for unveiling various development projects initiated by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar (SMZ) and its development partners, including private institutions.

NMB Bank’s involvement in this year’s festival was highlighted during a sponsor introduction event. Naima Said Shaame, the Business Manager for NMB Zanzibar, emphasized the bank’s substantial participation. She stated, “We view this festival with great importance and have supported it since its inception. This year, our involvement will reflect the scale of our bank.”

Naima added, “NMB is dedicated to enhancing the economy at both individual and national levels. Our sponsorship of the Kizimkazi Festival aligns with our commitment to boosting economic growth and individual prosperity.”

The bank’s support includes three major initiatives. Firstly, NMB will provide financial education, investment training, and business development support to over 700 entrepreneurs. Secondly, the School of Arts in Makunduchi, which will be officially handed over to President Samia Suluhu Hassan, includes five classrooms for 200 students, an office for the principal, teacher offices, storage facilities, modern sanitation systems, and a sports area.

Mahfoudh Said Omar, the Chairman of the Kizimkazi Festival, announced that Dotto Magari has been appointed as the festival’s ambassador for this year. He also mentioned that each sponsor would have designated days to fulfill their contractual obligations, aimed at providing extensive opportunities for facilitators.
