16 Gen Z Youths Remain in Custody for Robbing Kapseret MP’s Club in Eldoret

Sixteen young people, aged between 17 and 24, are currently in custody following their involvement in the theft and vandalism of property worth over KSh 150 million at Timba XO Club. This club is associated with Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi. The alleged incident took place on June 25, 2024, during a Gen Z protest against taxes in Eldoret.

Court Proceedings

On Friday, the Eldoret court ruled that the 16 youths would remain in custody for approximately five days, pending a decision on their bail application. The defense lawyers had requested their release on reasonable bail terms, emphasizing that many of the accused are students from various high schools and colleges in Eldoret.
