
A Russian drone strike on the Kharkiv region has injured five civilians and caused a massive fire at a civilian enterprise. The attack, which targeted multiple districts overnight, destroyed homes, vehicles, and warehouses. The fire spread over an area of 1,000 square metres, requiring extensive emergency response efforts.
According to Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Russian forces used guided aerial bombs, FPV drones, and UAVs to attack civilian areas, with Kupyansk, Chuguyiv, and Bohodukhiv districts coming under fire. More than 20 residential buildings were damaged, along with cars and outbuildings.
At 03:20 on March 17, a Russian Shahed drone struck a civilian enterprise in the village of Kamyana Yaruga, Chuguyiv district, igniting a fire that spread rapidly. Firefighters worked through the night to contain the flames.
A 56-year-old man in Kupyansk was injured by a guided bomb but refused hospitalisation. In Velyka Shapkiwka, three women aged 66, 75, and 56, along with a 66-year-old man, were wounded when a bomb struck their area. All were taken to hospital for treatment.
