Ukrainian intelligence thwarted an attempt by Russian agents to sabotage a military train in the Rivne region. Two suspects were detained at the scene, and no injuries or damage were reported.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) successfully neutralized a sabotage group linked to Russian special services. According to investigators, the group targeted a railroad track in Rivne, where a Defense Forces freight train was traveling. Acting on intelligence, the SBU stopped the train at a safe distance and secured the area before any harm occurred.
The suspects, two local men aged 30 and 32, were apprehended while attempting to flee the scene. Recruited through Telegram channels, the individuals reportedly sought quick financial gain by carrying out sabotage activities for Russian operatives. The suspects used plastic explosives obtained from a hidden cache to construct an improvised explosive device (IED).
