Estonia will provide €12 million (£10.3 million) in 2025 for restoration and development projects in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region. This funding is part of Estonia’s ongoing support, which has already contributed over €50 million (£43 million) to rebuilding efforts in the area. Vitalii Bunechko, Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, announced the allocation, stating that these funds will help continue key initiatives improving local communities.
Among the projects receiving Estonian assistance is the reconstruction of an art school in the city of Malyn, which was damaged by Russian shelling. Estonia is also assisting with reforms in extracurricular education within the community. In the Zhytomyr community, a modern family-type children’s home is set to be constructed for a family raising eight children.
