Satellite images reveal that a fire at an oil depot in Russia’s Rostov region continues to spread. The blaze, which began following a Ukrainian drone attack, has engulfed at least ten fuel tanks.
The fire at the oil depot near Proletarsk was captured in satellite images taken on August 19 at 14:23 local time. These images show that the flames have continued to spread, consuming multiple tanks. At least ten tanks are currently on fire, according to the images released by Radio Liberty.
The fire started early on August 18 after a drone strike hit the depot. Residents in the area reported that the fire caused significant black smoke to blanket the city, making the air difficult to breathe.
Sources informed UNN that the oil depot, which was targeted by Ukrainian drones, was used to support the Russian military industrial complex and the activities of Russian occupation forces. The strike is described as part of a Ukrainian intelligence operation aimed at disrupting the enemy’s logistics.
