Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) drones targeted the Novovelichkovskaya oil pumping station in Russia’s Krasnodar region, causing a complete power outage and halting oil transportation. The strike, which hit the facility’s 110/35/10 kV power substation, resulted in a fire that disabled operations. Russian authorities are now assessing the extent of the damage.
The Novovelichkovskaya station plays a key role in oil transportation across the Kuban region, supplying crude oil to the Afip and Ilya refineries. The attack has disrupted supply chains and caused significant losses for the Russian oil industry. According to SBU sources, this marks the eighth successful strike by Ukrainian forces on Russian oil infrastructure since the beginning of the year.
Previous drone strikes have targeted major refineries and pumping stations supporting Russia’s war effort. On 17 February, Ukrainian drones attacked the Ilya Oil Refinery and the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station, both of which are critical to Russia’s military-industrial complex. These operations have inflicted multimillion-dollar losses on Russia and complicated its ability to maintain fuel supplies for military operations.
