New health center for older adults plans grand opening in Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A new Topeka health center geared towards helping older adults is set to hold its grand opening later this week.

Oak Street Health announced in a press release on Tuesday, Nov. 12 that it is holding a grand opening ceremony for its new Topeka-based center at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 4019 Southwest 10th Avenue. This location opened in August this year with the celebration aimed at showing off the facility and the services it provides.

People from the Topeka community, especially older adults on Medicare, are invited to this special celebration. The ribbon cutting is set for 2:45 p.m. on the day of the event which will be followed by a tour of the facility.

Oak Street Health currently maintains only one other center in the Sunflower State based out of the Kansas City area. These centers act as places where older adults can meet and mingle in a safe environment while learning how to get the most of out Medicare plans.
