Part of Kansas Turnpike closed after crash kills 2 south of Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Two people are dead, and two others are injured, following a crash early Monday morning in the northbound lanes of the Kansas Turnpike, Interstate 35.

The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. near 87th Street South, south of Haysville. KSN News has a crew at the scene. So far, authorities have not released details of what happened or how many vehicles were involved.

Northbound traffic is closed at exit 33, near Mulvane. Traffic is being rerouted and allowed back onto I-35 at the Peck interchange.

Southbound traffic has also been affected. Currently, one lane of southbound traffic is being allowed through.
