Demolition derby driver hospitalized in Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A competitor in a local demolition derby in Topeka was hospitalized Thursday during one of the race events.

27 News reached out to Allison Geist with the Stormont Vail Events Center following reports a person was injured during the 14th annual Blizzard Bash Demolition Derby. She confirms a participant in a race “experienced a medical emergency” at 8 p.m. on Nov. 7.

Geist said the Topeka Fire Department and AMR responded to the events center and took the participant to a nearby hospital for treatment. The individual was admitted and is in reportedly stable condition.
