On 2 November, 2024, Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled a massive attack by Russian occupiers which invoved 22 armored vehicles: 7 tanks, 13 infantry fighting vehicles, 2 MT-LBs, and nearly 120 occupiers, according to the “Edelweiss” 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade.

Overall, Russian invaders suffered 1,410 casualties over the past day, bringing the total number of losses to 699,090. Since 2022, Ukrainian troops have destroyed 9,182 tanks and 18,523 armored fighting vehicles.

The 10th Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss,” a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces that has fought in Marinka, Popasna, Mariupol, and Bakhmut, reported that the major attack was repelled due to coordinated efforts.

“Due to the well-coordinated work of our artillery, anti-tank missile units, reconnaissance, and drones, the enemy’s approach was detected in time, and their assault groups were halted before reaching our positions,” the report stated.

As a result of the battle, the Russians suffered significant losses. Ukrainian forces destroyed six tanks and nine infantry fighting vehicles. Additionally, 19 occupiers were eliminated, and 23 were wounded.

“Other losses are being clarified. Our defenders have no casualties,” the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade summarized.

Earlier, The National Interest reported that elite Russian special forces suffered catastrophic losses in Ukraine. By the end of summer 2022, all but one of the five Russian special forces brigades that entered the war, had lost a significant number of its personnel.
