NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — The application portal for the Office of Legal Immigration Grant Program is now open.

It was created under Senate Bill 2142 to support employers and communities with recruiting, retaining, and integrating New Americans into the workforce and communities in the state.

Through the program, eligible businesses and community-based organizations can advance their workforce and community integration initiatives.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are only available until June 30, 2025.

“This program reflects North Dakota’s commitment to addressing workforce needs through innovative solutions,” said Katie Ralston Howe, the Commerce Workforce director. “The Office of Legal Immigration Grant Program will bolster our workforce by enabling employers to attract and retain foreign-born talent and empowering communities to be inclusive spaces for Immigrants and New Americans.”

All materials need to be submitted online, including the required documents.

Applications will be reviewed within three weeks by the Workforce Development Division and notifications will be sent out within four weeks.

Applicants who are successful must finish an agreement, and the funds will be disbursed based on milestones — which requires regular progress reports.
