BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — A man is being charged with attempted murder after police say he stabbed another man several times earlier this week.
Court papers obtained by KX News show that the incident happened just before 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. Investigators say two people told police they picked up a man outside Ministry on the Margins in Bismarck and took him along to Walmart to buy food.
Two of the people went inside the store, and police say a man sitting in the front seat was stabbed more than a dozen times in the back by another man — Jeffrey Lee.
Officers showed up and found the man covered in blood. He was then taken to the hospital.
Later that night, police arrested and questioned Lee.
On Tuesday, Lee was in court in Burleigh County, where a judge set his bond at $100,000.
His trial is set to begin on February 12th.
Police say the victim had surgery, but medical workers say the stabbing didn’t hit any major arteries or lungs.
